Caramelized Onion Bread with Fromager d’Affinois Garlic & Herbs

Ingredients

  • 1 baguette
  • 2 sweet onions
  • 1 tbsp calabrian sauce
  • 1tbsp olive oil
  • 1tbsp butter
  • 2 heads garlic
  • 1 rosemary
  • 1 thyme
  • Salt and Pepper as needed
  • 2 tbsp Fromager d’Affinois Garlic & Herbs
  • Parsley for garnish

Directions

Preheat the oven

  1. Set your oven to 380°F (193°C).

Roast the onions & garlic

  1. In a baking pan, combine sliced onions, Calabrian chili sauce, olive oil, butter, halved garlic heads (cut side up), rosemary, thyme, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  2. Toss gently to coat everything.
  3. Roast uncovered for about 40 minutes, stirring once or twice until the onions are soft and caramelized.

Prepare the spread

  1. Remove the pan from the oven.
  2. Squeeze out the roasted garlic cloves and discard the skins.
  3. Mix softened garlic into the caramelizd onions.
  4. Stir in the Fromager d’Affinois Garlic & Herbs cheese until smooth and creamy.

Assemble the toasts

  1. Spread a generous layer of the onion mixture onto the baguette slices.
  2. Arrange on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for 10 minutes, or until the edges are crispy and golden.
