This file is automatically sent back during subsequent contacts with the same domain.”

The different types of cookies

The different types of cookies that can be found on a website are the following:

  • Technical or functional cookies:

These cookies, which are essential for the proper functioning of a website, allow, for example, to know whether or not the visitor is connected to his customer area, to manage his selection of products or services, etc.

From a technical point of view, these cookies can also allow the publisher of a website to identify possible bugs on the site, to correct them and to propose an adapted offer.

  • Audience measurement or statistical cookies:

A website is also likely to use statistical and audience measurement cookies to, for example, determine the number of visitors to the website, the sections visited, etc.

  • Cookies from third-party sites or applications:

On some websites, certain applications allow the visitor to share or publicize the content of the website with other people, particularly on social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, etc.

Even if the visitor has not used the sharing buttons or applications, it is possible that the social networks track the visitor’s browsing if his or her account or session is activated on his or her computer at the time of browsing (see the terms and conditions and data protection policies of the social network sites).

  • Advertising partner cookies:

These cookies are deposited by companies other than the visited website, most often commercial partners or advertising providers of the visited website. These cookies are managed by companies other than the publisher of the website and only the issuer of said cookies can read or modify the information. The website on which these cookies are deposited is therefore likely to transmit information to the partners/service providers concerned, this information being relative, for example, to purchases made and products consulted.

  • Optional cookies:

These cookies are not essential to navigation on the website; they are intended to improve the user experience and facilitate the user’s searches by proposing products and offers in line with the user’s areas of interest. Example: information on the last product consulted, “you’ll like it too” type message.
